Bobcat Ridge Trail

Bobcat Ridge Trail

Starting 4/14 and continuing through 4/28 Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs we will start having evening trailwork sessions on the Ginny trail from 5PM until sunset. Due to COVID restrictions we have to limit the number of volunteers to 10 on a given day and I hope we can use some sort of sign up on the calendar to keep track of volunteers. Masks will be required to be worn for close contact situations like stonework or heavy lifting. The Bobcat area is closed so this is the only time volunteers will be allowed on the trail unless another day and time for trail work is set up. A signed waiver will be needed from each volunteer which will be good for any City Natural Area trail projects for the year.

Since the trailhead parking area is closed we will meet at the ranger parking area next door just to the north of the main lot. Tools should be cached up on the trail so we will plan to ride to and from the work areas each day. Volunteers can also hike up/down the trail each day if preferred. Please plan work attire, food and drinks accordingly.

This trail work is in no way planned to take away from the original intent of the trail or its technical nature and primarily focused on erosion prone areas of the trail. That being said, trail enhancement opportunities will be looked at as well.

The City trail crew has also asked us to keep this work off social media until the trail is open so as not to confuse users of the status of the area
